Week 1 of our CIF-SS football coverage is in the books.

Now, onto Week 2:

1. (2) St. John Bosco (2-0) (vs. Bishop Gorman, 7:30p, Prime Ticket, FOX Sports GO)

The Braves played a gritty La Mirada team but pitched another shutout to set up a titanic matchup against the nation's top rated team, Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. Defensively, Bosco has tremendous speed, size up front and play makers in the secondary.

2. (3) Mater Dei (2-0)

The Monarchs big win over Bishop Amat opening week looks better after the Lancers upset previous Top 10 rated Servite. Mater Dei had no problems with Mayfair, winning 63-0, and boasts the nation's best passing offense.

3. (1) Corona Centennial (1-1) (vs. Orange Lutheran, Friday, 7:30p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

The Huskies lost a heartbreaker to Bradenton (Fla.) IMG 50-49 in what is an early candidate for game of the year. IMG went for two and the win after scoring a touchdown with :12 left and converted. Centennial's offense proved once again they can score points on anyone and will be a load to deal with when the Div I playoffs roll around.

4. (4) Mission Viejo (2-0) (vs. La Habra, Friday, 7:30p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

The Diablos were tested early before pulling away from Oak Hills 42-28. Offensively, Mission Viejo is really strong and boasts a balanced attack with the ability to grind it out on the ground or hit the deep ball with multiple difference makers at receiver.

5. (5) Vista Murrieta (2-0)

The Broncos defense continues to impress, pitching a 31-0 shutout over Redondo Union. The Broncos can't look past Santiago this weekend with a big matchup with JSerra looming in two weeks.

6. (8) Rancho Cucamonga (2-0)

It was a good week for the Cougars on and off the field. Rancho had a very solid win over an always strong Norco team 48-20 and also welcomed four new transfers from Upland who were denied admission in to Centennial.

7. (6) Long Beach Poly (1-1)

Poly lost a tough one to a very good Narbonne team 25-13. The Jackrabbits led at halftime but struggled to move the ball in the second half. Poly has a bye this weekend before a big matchup with No. 4 rated Mission Viejo

8. (7) Oaks Christian (1-1)

The Lions had a tough matchup against one of the elite teams back east. Philadelphia St. Joseph was just too big up front for Oaks but more worrisome for was standout tight end Colby Parkinson suffering an ankle injury and finishing the game on crutches.

9. (10) Chaminade (1-1)

This was the Eagles team we expected to see when we rated them as the No. 6 team in the Southern Section. Chaminade dominated a talented St. Bonaventure squad on both sides of the ball and pulled away with a 42-7 win.

10. (11) Calabasas (2-0)

The Coyotes likely won't play a more physical team all year than L.A (Calif.) Salesian but showed plenty of toughness to take the win 35-26.

The Next 10:

11. (16) San Clemente (1-1

12. (12) La Mirada (1-1)

13. (15) Orange Lutheran (1-1) (at Centennial, Friday, 7:30p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

14. (17) Murrieta Valley (2-0)

15. (NR) JSerra (2-0)

16. (13) Alemany (1-1)

17. (18) Cathedral (2-0)

18. (14) St. Bonaventure (1-1)

19. (19) Redlands East Valley (1-0)

20. (9) Servite (1-1) (vs. De La Salle, Friday, 7:30p, Prep Zone/FOX Sports GO)

Dropped Out: Serra

Jumped in: JSerra
