FOX Sports San Diego to broadcast four Aztecs basketball games

SAN DIEGO - FOX Sports San Diego is set to broadcast four San Diego State men's basketball non-conference home games in 2014. The four-game slate will begin with the Aztecs' season opener vs. CSUN on Friday, Nov. 14.
SDSU's date with the Matadors is a part of the opening round of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT and the contest will pit the two schools against each other for the first time since 2008. San Diego State is 18-6 all-time vs. CSUN, has won three in a row in the series and will put its 41-game winning streak vs. California schools on the line.
The Aztecs' next appearance on FSSD will take place on Thursday, Nov. 20, when Bakersfield heads to Montezuma Mesa. The Roadrunners and SDSU will hit the Viejas Arena hardwood at 7:30 p.m. PT. It will be just the second all-time meeting between the universities with San Diego State claiming a 72-57 victory in the first get-together back on Jan. 2, 2013.
FOX Sports San Diego and the Aztecs will not see each other for over a month, but the drought will end on Monday, Dec. 22, when UC Riverside drives south on Interstate 15. SDSU will look to defeat the Highlanders for the 11th consecutive time at 8 p.m. PT.
The fourth and final San Diego State installment on FSSD is slated for Saturday, Dec. 27, at 7 p.m. PT. The Aztecs will play host to nearby San Diego Christian for the fifth straight season. Last year, SDSU defeated the Hawks, 93-41, at Viejas Arena.
The four dates on FOX Sports San Diego continues a relationship that dates back to last season when the network aired selected Aztecs football and men's basketball games. This season, FSSD and San Diego State athletics have joined forces to bring fans Aztec Football with Rocky Long. Later this fall, Aztec Basketball with Steve Fisher will debut once the men's hoops season gets started.
"We're honored to be the local home for a select number of SDSU's men's basketball games, Aztec Football with Rocky Long and Aztec Basketball with Steve Fisher," said Henry Ford, Senior Vice President and General Manager, FOX Sports San Diego. "Our goal is to not only showcase the University's athletics, but more important, its programs and values that inspire and develop outstanding student athletes."
