FOX Sports Florida Girl Annilie is on her way to U.S. Army Garrison Grafenwoehr in Germany as part of FOX Sports and Major League Baseball's "Spring Training to the Troops" program.
Along with Annilie, FOX Sports Florida represented by Orestes Destrade, former Florida Marlins player and current broadcast host for the Tampa Bay Rays on Sun Sports, and Wade Boggs, Hall of Famer and former Rays player.
They will spend a few days with the soldiers and their families as they take an intimate look inside the day-to-day life of the soldiers within the garrison.
Here's Annilie on why this trip is important to her:
Why are you looking forward to this trip?
I'm a huge supporter of our armed forces. I have always wanted to visit troops overseas, so I was ecstatic when I found out I was given the opportunity to visit the army base in Grafenwoehr, Germany. Not only that, but  being able to bring Spring Training to the Troops, along with other Fox Sports Girls and other very prestigious baseball athletes and broadcasters is a total win-win!

What do you hope to get out of this trip?
I hope to connect with some soldiers and their families! I can only imagine what it's like to be so far from your hometown. Bringing some baseball fun in can hopefully bring some hometown cheer to the families stationed in Grafenwoehr. What does the military mean to you?
The military consists of extremely brave men and women who sacrifice their lives to protect us at home. They put their country first and aren't afraid to give up everything they know. Physically and mentally, they are trained to protect us. Sometimes without seeing their families for months (even years) at a time, they work endlessly day in and day out to let us live our lives at home.
What is your personal connection to the military?
My whole family seems to have been in the military! My father was a US Marine and was a veteran of the Korean War. His brother, my uncle, was also a US marine and veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War. My two nieces are also currently in the US Navy.
