FOX Sports Florida, Prep Zone Game of the week features Lake Highland vs. Berkeley
TAMPA, FL -- FOX Sports Florida announced today they will be featuring the Berkeley Prep-Highland Prep game on FOXSportsFlorida.com via Prep Zone, presented by Checkers. Dave Reynolds will call the games, alongside color commentator John Kaleo, and Amy Campbell will be reporting from the sidelines.
This week Prep Zone we will be showcasing schools from three different markets in Florida, plus New Orleans. Fans at Berkeley Prep in Tampa will enjoy the fan zone, and the Lake Highland Prep community in Orlando will be able to watch the game live and interact through social media. On Sept. 13, at 10 p.m., FOX Sports Florida will televise defending national champion John Curtis Christian action against Florida powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Prep Showcase.
On Thursday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., Prep Zone heads to Hillsborough County to spotlight visiting Lake Highland Prep and Berkeley Prep. The Class 5A Highlanders (0-2) have lost 11 consecutive games dating back to last season and are looking to turn things around. Senior quarterback Evan Jager, a four-year starter, will look to spark a Lake Highland offense that's scored just seven points this season. The Class 3A Buccaneers (2-0) return a slew of key performers from last season. Junior quarterback Brad Mayes, who threw for 1,200-plus yards in 2012, has a pair of top young playmakers in sophomore wide receiver Jacob Mathis and freshman tight end Jared Shimberg. Defensively, look for a talented group of linebackers, spearheaded by senior John Kastrenakes, to make things difficult for Lake Highland.
