The state of Florida was nearly shut out of the NCAA Tournament on the men's side. The women's side, however, is a different story: Florida State, South Florida, Florida Gulf Coast and Miami were all selected for the upcoming tourney.
Florida State is a No. 2 seed in the Greensboro Region, opening up against Alabama State on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. In that same region, Florida Gulf Coast is a No. 7 seed and takes on Oklahoma State on Saturday. Were both of the Sunshine State teams to win, they would face each other next Monday.
South Florida, a sixth seed in the Albany Region, opens up against LSU, and 11th-seeded Miami begins its tournament against Washington in the Oklahoma City Region.
