MINNEAPOLIS — After seven seasons with the Minnesota Twins, utility infielder Alexi Casilla has found a new team.

The Baltimore Orioles claimed the 28-year-old Casilla off outright waivers, the Twins announced Friday. Casilla was signed by the Angels as an amateur free agent in 2003 and was traded to the Twins in 2005 for pitcher J.C. Romero.

In seven seasons with the Twins, Casilla was a career .250 hitter. He played a career-high 106 games in 2012 and batted .241 with 30 RBI and a career-high 21 stolen bases. Casilla’s biggest moment in Minnesota came in 2009, when he drove in the game-winning run in Game 163 against the Detroit Tigers. Casilla played three infield positions with the Twins but was primarily used at second base (399 games).

The Twins also acquired two players from the Colorado Rockies on Friday, the team announced. Infielder Tommy Field and right-hander Josh Roenicke were both claimed off outright waivers by the Twins.

The 25-year-old Field has played 18 career games in the majors and made his Rockies debut in 2011. He spent most of the 2012 season at Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he batted .246 with 49 RBI and eight home runs.

Roenicke spent most of his career in the Cincinnati Reds organization and joined Colorado in 2011. He has made 127 career relief appearances in the majors with the Reds, Blue Jays and Rockies. In 2012, Roenicke appeared in 63 games and posted a 3.25 ERA with 54 strikeouts and 43 walks in 88 2/3 innings. He is the nephew of Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke.
