Former Dallas Cowboys running back Herschel Walker needed little time to improve his MMA record to 2-0, recording an impressive first round TKO victory over Scott Carson (4-2) on Saturday night.

Walker fought on the televised portion of "Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg" which aired on Showtime.

Brushing off an opening head kick from Carson, Walker dropped his opponent to the canvas with his first punch just 20 seconds into the fight.

After Walker avoided an armbar submission from Carson, the two went to their feet, where they didn't stay for long.

Walker, 48, slammed Carson to the mat and followed with several undefended punches to end the fight.

Despite recently admitting that he would never fight for a title in MMA, Walker did walk out of the cage Saturday night looking like a man who is taking this sport very seriously.

But the ever modest Walker wouldn't let this victory get to his head in his post-fight interview.

"I was OK," Walker said.

The fight was orginally scheduled to take place in December on the "Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu II" card, but a cut suffered by Walker during training pushed the fight back a month.
