Flying high: Sanchez takes over in Philly

With Nick Foles expected to miss 6-8 weeks due to a broken clavicle, Mark Sanchez is the Eagles' new starting quarterback. In relief of Foles on Sunday, Sanchez completed 15 of 22 passes for 202 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The bet here is that Sanchez will be a solid fantasy QB - often worthy of QB1 status - down the stretch. Foles isn't exactly a superstar, but he played well enough to be a top-15 fantasy QB in an offense that is conducive to a quarterback's success (short version: lots of open receivers), and he was throwing more passes this season than everyone except Andrew Luck and Tom Brady. Sanchez looked pretty good on Sunday, and his schedule over the rest of the season (@Packers, Titans, @Cowboys, Seahawks, Cowboys, @Redskins) isn't too bad. Sanchez will be in my top 15 for his Week 10 matchup against the Panthers, and should be targeted immediately for those with Luck, Brady or Philip Rivers on a bye. Heck, he should be targeted by anyone who carries two QBs on a fantasy roster.
In other news ...
Your Week 10 byes are Texans, Colts, Vikings, Patriots, Chargers and Redskins. Thursday's game is Browns-Bengals. Don't expect to see Bengals RB Gio Bernard (hip, clavicle) or Browns TE Jordan Cameron (concussion) on Thursday.
You won't have to worry about him until Week 11, but the Texans aren't saying much about Arian Foster's groin injury. If you can stash Alfred Blue (owned in 3.3 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) for a week, it might not be a bad idea.
Do you know which wide receivers had more targets than Percy Harvin (11 receptions, 129 yards) in Week 9? Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders - that's it. The Jets appear committed to getting Harvin involved, and you should, too. He's a solid WR2 this week.
Lions WR Calvin Johnson and RB Reggie Bush practiced Monday, and both are expected to return against the Dolphins.
Tony Romo's status for Sunday's game against the Jaguars (in London) is TBD. We might not know anything useful about Romo until Friday, so keep your backup plan in place.
Speaking of the Dolphins, RB Lamar Miller is expected to play Sunday after injuring his shoulder against the Chargers. Keep an eye on his status this week, anyway.
Takeaways from Monday's Colts-Giants game: The Giants stink, Andrew Luck does not. Nice garbage-time performance from Odell Beckham Jr., too.
Broncos WR Wes Welker is day to day after leaving Sunday's game with a back injury. It's not like he was helping your fantasy team, anyway.
In other Bucs' news, Josh McCown might replace Mike Glennon at quarterback this week. In other Bucs' news, we might see the debut of rookie RB Charles Sims this week against the soft Falcons' defense. As with last week - when we thought Sims would play - I can definitely see picking him up, but starting him in fantasy right away seems ambitious.
Giants CB Prince Amukamara is probably done for the season with a torn biceps. They've already got the league's 28th-ranked pass defense, so this will get uglier.
In addition to Foles, the Eagles lost LB DeMeco Ryans for the season due to a ruptured Achilles' tendon. That's a tough break for an already-subpar defense.
See you back here Friday morning.
