The World Series of Poker Main Event is down to the final two players in contention for the top prize of more than $8 million.

New York poker pro Cliff Josephy was eliminated in third place on Tuesday night, earning a payout of $3.45 million. That left Qui Nguyen and Gordon Vayo still alive for the championship bracelet.

Josephy, the oldest player of the final nine at 50 years old, arrived at the final table on Sunday night as the chip leader. But after two nights of play eliminated six more players, he started Tuesday night far behind, in third place.

He doubled his stack to more than 101 million chips on the first hand of the final night, but soon was down to about 10 million. He was eliminated when he went all-in with a queen and a three; Vayo had a king that paired when the first three community cards were dealt.
