The Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday sent winger Nikita Filatov, a former first-round draft choice, to their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield and called up winger Tom Sestito.

Filatov got more than 14 minutes of ice time Thursday at St. Louis, almost seven minutes of it on the power play, but registered only one shot and was ineffective. Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson and coach Scott Arniel conferred after the game and again Friday morning about how to proceed with the sixth overall pick of the 2008 NHL draft.
