Fernando Rodney gets into the groove

World Baseball Classic champion? Check. 
Premier major-league closer? Check. 
Someone who can cut the rug? Check. 
Tampa Bay Rays closer Fernando Rodney is versatile in more ways than one. He’s a force on the mound, no doubt, having earned 48 saves with a 0.60 ERA last season. His skills translate to the international stage, where he helped lead the Dominican Republic to the WBC title earlier this month by collecting seven saves in eight appearances. Away from the mound, though, he can shuffle a few steps. Recently, he was captured dancing to salsa music in the outfield during a Tampa Bay batting practice session. 


This is nothing new for Rodney. He has swung his hips to music played over stadium loudspeakers before. Here’s evidence of him dancing to Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” at Angel Stadium of Anaheim:
