Fast bowler Cummins added to West Indies squad in Australia

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) Fast bowler Miguel Cummins will replace the injured Shannon Gabriel in the West Indies squad for the remaining two tests against Australia.

The West Indies Cricket Board made the announcement on Wednesday.

Cummins has taken 99 wickets at an average of 22.83 in 36 first-class matches. He has one appearance for the West Indies, in a one-day international against Ireland at Sabina Park, Jamaica, in February 2014.

Gabriel injured his left ankle while bowling in the first innings of the first test in Hobart, where Australia won by an innings and 212 runs.

The West Indies play a two-day tour match against a Victoria state side beginning on Saturday in preparation for the second test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from Dec. 26.
