COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Talented wide receiver Da'Rick Rogers says he is maturing as a person. His football future depends on it.

The former all-Southeastern Conference standout, who said he left Tennessee after being suspended for a positive drug test, continues to show there is no question about his ability.

In his first season at Tennessee Tech, Rogers has 34 receptions for 562 yards and five touchdowns. He already owns single-game school records for catches and receiving yards.

Rogers had 67 passes for 1,040 yards and nine touchdowns last year with the Volunteers. But he was indefinitely suspended less than two weeks before the start of this season and landed at Tennessee Tech a few days later.

His new teammates say he is making all the right choices off the field so far.
