Dorial Green-Beckham has found a new school.
Nearly three months after the talented but troubled wide receiver was dismissed from the University of Missouri football team, Green-Beckham has transferred to Oklahoma.
"We are pleased to welcome Dorial to the University of Oklahoma, where he is excited to continue his education and resume his playing career," Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops said in a press release. "Dorial understands the privilege and responsibilities of representing the Oklahoma Football program. He is a talented young man who is eager to get to work with the rest of our team in the classroom and on the field."
Green-Beckham will have to sit out this season under NCAA transfer rules and will be eligible to play for the Sooners beginning in 2015. There is also the possibility that he could declare for the 2015 NFL Draft.
The wide receiver was dismissed from Mizzou in early April, five days after he was suspended indefinitely for a "violation of team policies" and one day after the Columbia Police Department released a 19-page report that named the sophomore as a suspect in the burglary of a residence but also announced he would not be charged.

"This decision was made with the best interests of all involved in mind," Missouri coach Gary Pinkel said in a press release. "Dorial's priority going forward needs to be focusing on getting the help he needs. As we have all along, we will continue to do everything we can to assist Dorial and his family. We care deeply about Dorial and his well-being, but hopefully he can benefit from a fresh start."
Green-Beckham's brush with the law this spring was his third in his two years as a Missouri football player. He had been arrested twice previously in drug-related incidents -- in October 2012 in Columbia and then again in early January in his hometown of Springfield, Mo.
Now the 6-foot-6 wide receiver, who picked Mizzou over Oklahoma among others as the nation's top recruit back on Signing Day in 2012, will get his fresh start in Norman.
"I appreciate this opportunity from Coach Stoops and the University of Oklahoma," Green-Beckham said in the school's press release. "There are people here who will help me build a strong foundation. I've disappointed myself and others in the past. I know that I have a lot of work to do and I'm ready to get started. OU is a great program and I feel privileged to be part of it. The university has made the expectations clear and I want to live up to them and be a positive part of the campus and team. I also want to thank Coach Gary Pinkel and the University of Missouri."
