Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was sacked a career-high seven times Sunday and Cowboys right tackle Doug Free was part of four of them.

While giving his take Sunday night on the Cowboys' 23-20 overtime victory over the Cleveland Browns, former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin called out the 28-year-old tackle, who signed a four-year, $32 million contract extension in 2011.

"The Cowboys have a chance to do something here. If I'm running the Cowboys organization, I'm doing something about Doug Free," the Hall of Famer said on the NFL Network. "I'm doing something about some of the stuff I saw today on that football team. Yeah it was Cleveland, yeah, you won the game, but wow. (Romo) didn't even have time to get back and set up before he was getting hit.

"Oh my God, Doug Free, man. I'm talking about, Jimmy Johnson would cut him on the spot."

Although he did not commit a penalty on Sunday, Free has been called for a league-leading 11 penalties, with seven coming on false starts and the other four coming via holding.

Irvin later ended the Cowboys segment by looking directly into the camera and saying, "Doug Free, you got to tighten up or you need to be free. I'm telling you right now. Tighten down or get out! That's what you do."
