'European knuckleball,' the 'Slurge' among 63 pitches in Will Ferrell's arsenal

When Will Ferrell took the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers during his 10-team, 10-position tour through MLB spring training in March, the 48-year-old actor-turned-baseball player told catcher Austin Barnes that he had a pitch called the "Slurge."

"I learned [the Slurge] in Japan," Ferrell explained of the mysterious pitch (which sounds like a cousin of the gyroball).

That's not the only ace Ferrell has up his sleeve. In the above's two-minute preview for HBO's documentary "Ferrell Takes the Field" — detailing the comic's Cactus League adventure to benefit the Cancer for College charity — the actor also revealed that he has a total of 63 pitches in his arsenal.

Little is known about Ferrell's Slurge — or his "semi-precious gems" collection, including the "Ruby" and "Topaz." Likewise, his "European Knuckleball" is shrouded in mystery. Some pitches are only seasonal, he explains.

Perhaps the former "Saturday Night Live" star and film actor will reveal more about his library of pitches when the documentary premieres on Sept. 12.

Tell us your secrets, Will.
