LONDON (AP) The coach of England's successful under-20 team will assist the senior side as scrum coach for the Six Nations, in the latest backroom appointment by Eddie Jones.

England's Rugby Football Union says Ian Peel will also be joining the coaching staff at top-flight club Saracens.

The 39-year-old Peel also had a position as international performance coach with the RFU. He wasn't an international as a player, making 122 appearances for Newcastle in the English Premiership before becoming a coach at the club.

Peel replaces Graham Rowntree as England scrum coach, and joins a new coaching staff under Jones that includes Steve Borthwick and Paul Gustard.

Under Peel, the England Under-20s won back-to-back junior world championship titles in 2013 and 2014, and reached the final last year.
