England tail wags vs. India, reach 385-8

MUMBAI, India (AP) Jos Buttler scored a fine half-century and put on 51 runs with Jake Ball on Friday as England reached 385-8 in its first innings at lunch on day two of the fourth test against India.
At the break, Buttler was on 64, while Ball was unbeaten on 29. The duo wrested away the initiative from the hosts who had struck quick blows in the first hour of play.
Starting from overnight 288-5, Ben Stokes (31) was dismissed in the third over of the morning. He was adjudged caught at slip off Ravichandran Ashwin (5-102) after a video review.
Ashwin completed his 23rd five-wicket haul in test cricket, and his seventh in this calendar year.
Buttler survived an lbw shout off Ravindra Jadeja (3-105) and the decision was confirmed by review.
Chris Woakes (11) was caught behind off Jadeja, who bowled Adil Rashid (4) soon after.
Virat Kohli dropped Ball at slip before the England batsman had scored and that proved a costly mistake.
Ball and Buttler put on 50 runs off only 69 balls.
