NEW DELHI (AP) England recovered from 57-6 in the 10th over to post 142-7 against Afghanistan in the World Twenty20 on Wednesday.

Offspinner Mohammad Nabi and legspinner Rashid Khan finished with identical figures of 4-0-17-2, and legspinner Samiuallah Shenwari took out Jos Buttler for 6 as England collapsed after electing to bat on a good batting pitch.

A fighting 41 not out from Moeen Ali helped England put up a defendable total against the Associate side.

Ali, who opened up to play some big shots after batting himself in, added 57 runs in an unbroken eighth-wicket stand with David Willey, who was 20 not out.

They took 25 runs off the 19th over bowled by left-arm spinner Amir Hamza.

But the top order was routed, as Hamza bowled Jason Roy for 5, James Vince was caught and bowled for 22, captain Eoin Morgan was bowled by Nabi for 5, Joe Root was run out on 12, and Ben Stokes was bowled by Khan for 7.
