LONDON (AP) England chose to bat first against Sri Lanka in the third and final cricket test at Lord's on Thursday, while the visitors recalled Kusal Perera after the ICC dropped doping charges against him.

England captain Alastair Cook won the toss and decided to make use of what appeared to be a solid batting pitch.

England has already clinched the series with big victories in Leeds and Chester-Le-Street. England's team was unchanged from the second test.

Sri Lanka recalled Perera in the middle order in place of Milinda Siriwardana. Perera was cleared to play again after a doping laboratory withdrew positive tests against him for a banned steroid. Sri Lanka also picked seam bowler Shaminda Eranga despite him undergoing tests for a possibly illegal action.
