CENTURION, South Africa (AP) England powered to another formidable total against South Africa, making 318-8 in the third one-day international on Tuesday as it seeks to seal a series victory.

Joe Root hit a career-best 125, opener Alex Hales made 65 and Ben Stokes was in typically brutal form down the order to smash 53 from 37 balls.

England won the first two games and needs to win just one of the last three for an ODI series victory to follow its success in the test series.
