Miami's Dwyane Wade will not play Wednesday night when the Heat visit the 76ers in Philadelphia.

During his pregame media session, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Wade's knees were a little sore following Miami's season opener Tuesday night against Chicago.

Wade (rest) and Greg Oden (knee) were declared inactives for the Heat's first road game.

Spoelstra has said many times in recent weeks the team was taking a big-picture approach when it came to Wade, who battled injuries last season, and Oden, who hasn't played in three years because of chronic knee problems.

Roger Mason Jr., inactive Tuesday night, was to start in Wade's place.

Wade scored 13 points on 5-of-13 shooting in 36 minutes against the Bulls. The guard paced himself during the preseason, sitting out several games.
