Duke wants revenge for Miami's court slap

Duke will have some extra motivation when they host Miami on March 2.

More than getting a measure of revenge for the 27-point drubbing they were handed by the Hurricanes, the Blue Devils are also fuming about the team-wide "court slap" by Miami with about seven minutes left in the Jan. 23 game.

After all, the court slap is a Duke tradition, something signifying defensive intensity. And the Blue Devils are eager to show that Miami's gesture was not taken lightly.

“That was just a slap in the face to the program,” Quinn Cook told the News & Observer via Hoops World. “All the tradition that coach has built here, just for them to mock that, it was definitely disrespectful. We definitely took that to heart."
