A native of St. Louis, MO, Maroon was acquired by Anaheim with David Laliberte from Philadelphia in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010. He split the 2010-11 AHL season with Syracuse and Adirondack, collecting 26-30=56 points with a +5 rating and 98 PIM in 66 combined games.

Selected by Philadelphia in the sixth round (161st overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Maroon has played five professional seasons in the AHL with Philadelphia (2007-09), Adirondack (2009-11) and Syracuse (2010-12).
