Drivers who took scary rides react to Pocono Raceway's newly extended pit wall

Remember last August when three different drivers spun off Turn 3 at Pocono Raceway and clobbered the inside pit wall in the same weekend?
The eerily similar incidents raised eyebrows and suggestions that officials with the triangular-shaped Pennsylvania track extend its outer pit wall to avoid situations where those working on or near pit road could be injured.
Kasey Kahne, the last of the drivers to take a detour into the inside pit wall (the others were Jeb Burton and Truck Series driver Ray Black Jr.), saw a significant piece of his car get lodged into the inside wall, which was broken from the impact and resulted in NASCAR thowing a red flag for repairs.
"I saw the people and was like, 'Man, you guys better take off running and get out of the way,'" Kahne said moments after his wreck. "I didn't know. I haven't done anything like that before. It's crazy how it all happened."
In case you've forgotten about Kahne's scary ride, here's the video:
Kahne and other competitors won't have to worry about the same thing happening this year, when Pocono hosts its two annual NASCAR weekends.
In an effort to boost safety, track officials have extended the outer pit wall in Turn 3 where last year's incidents occurred.
@bigdalsky @kaseykahne @MikeLingerfelt @poconoraceway That wasn't any fun. Nice work.

I like the new wall and I don't plan on entering pit road that fast again. #outonlap3 #pissedoff #carjunk #aquafina https://t.co/LKaQtAy7CA
