Dolphins sign draft picks Jordan Tripp, Matt Hazel, Terrence Fede

DAVIE, Fla. -- The Miami Dolphins signed linebacker Jordan Tripp, receiver Matt Hazel and defensive lineman Terrence Fede, the team announced Friday.

Miami's second fifth-round selection (171st overall) in the draft, Tripp started 36 games for the University of Montana.

Tripp registered 335 tackles, 11 sacks, 10 fumble recoveries -- three for touchdowns -- in 54 games for the Grizzlies. Tripp also picked off five passes, one for a touchdown, and forced five fumbles.

Hazel, the Dolphins' sixth-round pick (190th overall), started in 38 games for Coastal Carolina. He finished his college career with 183 receptions for 2,553 yards and 28 touchdowns. Hazel also had three rushes for 20 yards and a touchdown in 49 games with the Chanticleers.

The first player in NFL history to be drafted out of Marist College, Fede was Miami's seventh-round choice (234th overall). He started in 34 of 41 career games with the Red Foxes. He finished with 215 tackles -- 47 for a loss -- and holds the school's career sack record with 30.5.

The Dolphins now have four of its eight draft picks under contract. Tight end Arthur Lynch signed Thursday.

Miami opened its rookie mini camp Friday afternoon.
