Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross visited team headquarters for nearly seven hours Thursday amid speculation there could be an organizational shakeup following another disappointing season.
Ross got in his helicopter and left the Davie, Fla., facility at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET.
There was no official word from the Dolphins regarding any personnel matters.
The Dolphins finished 8-8 and squandered a playoff berth by losing their final two games, leading to speculation about the futures of general manager Jeff Ireland and coach Joe Philbin.
Following Miami's season-ending 20-7 loss at home to the New York Jets, Ross said he would evaluate the entire organization.
The jobs of Ireland and offensive coordinator Mike Sherman reportedly were in the most jeopardy. Philbin appeared safe, though that could change if he resisted making dictated changes to the coaching staff.
The Dolphins had a roller-coaster season in 2013. They won their first three games, before losing the next four. After a highly publicized bullying scandal involving offensive linemen Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito, Miami won four of five to contend for a postseason spot before dropping their final two games.
