Doinghardtimeagain won the $200,500 Great Lady M. Stakes by 1 1/4 lengths for the Hall of Fame duo of trainer Jerry Hollendorfer and jockey Mike Smith at Los Alamitos on Saturday.

The 4-year-old filly ran 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:15.59 and paid $9.80, $5 and $4.20, bouncing back from a last-place finish in her 2014 debut last month. Doinghardtimeagain returned from a 10-month layoff to lose the Desert Stormer on June 15 at Santa Anita.

"I didn't have her ready last time and that's as honest as I can be," Hollendorfer said. "I'll take the blame. She's kind of big and a little bit heavy, so I didn't have her as ready as I could have."

Ridden for the first time by Smith, Doinghardtimeagain earned the second Grade 2 victory of her career. She has career earnings of $708,766, with six wins in 13 starts.

Smith and Hollendorfer teamed last weekend to win the $500,500 Los Alamitos Derby with Shared Belief, last year's champion 2-year-old male.

Amaranth returned $7.80 and $5.20 in finishing second despite having her saddle slip early in the race, while Sagebrush Queen was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third and paid $5.40 to show.

Heir Kitty, the 3-2 favorite, finished fourth.
