Dog wanders into half-marathon and ends up finishing seventh

You ain't nothin' but a hound dog, runnin' 13 miles.
Ludivine, a female bloodhound in Elkmont, Alabama, was only supposed to be outside doing what is euphemistically called taking care of her business (which reminds me of this cartoon), but instead decided to join the runners in a half-marathon.

Ludivine, who is 2 1/2, got her name from a character in the 2006 movie "A Good Year," Canadian Running reports.
Your tongue may be draggin', but you brought us lotsa smiles.
Ludivine finished the 13.1 miles in 1:32:56, good for seventh place, earning herself a medal.

"All I did was open the door, and she ran the race on her own accord," owner April Hamlin, 43, told Runner's World. "My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she had possibly gotten in the way of the other runners."
The medal isn't Ludivine's only honor. Next year, this race will be called the Elkmont's Hound Dog Half.
