FORT WORTH – Austin Dillon's double duty at Texas Motor Speedway came to fruition pretty late in the game.

Dillon, who is a regular in the Nationwide Series, didn't find out until Monday that he would be running in Saturday's Sprint Cup race. The seat was originally going to AJ Allmendinger, but Dillon ended up getting the spot.

"We just kind of got everything put together," said Dillon, who will be running in the Phoenix Racing entry. "Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet here in Texas, along with Red Barn, along with Realtree has come together to work with us to run this week's race."

Dillon, who is fifth in points in the Nationwide Series after five races, said the key for him running both races is to stay hydrated.

He also hopes to keep the string of solid races for Phoenix Racing going. James Finch's team is 11th in the owner point standings with Regan Smith, Allmendinger and Dillon handling the driving duties. Dillon finished 31st and 21st in his two starts this year.

Keeping the momentum going for the team is big for Dillon.

"The 51 team and James Finch have put a lot of effort into things this year, as they do every year," Dillon said. "The best thing about this year is they've been rewarded with some great finishes. We can get in there at a track this weekend that I run pretty good at and have a good finish."
