Did Megatron break Jerry Rice's record with three broken fingers?

Kids call him Megatron. Coaches call him Calvin. But you should start referring to the Lions wide receiver as the baddest man on the planet. Why, you ask? Let’s just say that Calvin Johnson broke Jerry Rice’s single-season receiving yards record in 2012, playing with THREE broken fingers, according to a Detroit News report. Unreal. Blame it on Matthew Stafford all you want, but Johnson was another victim of the well-documented Madden Curse. Just this time, the player powered through it. Way back in February, the Detroit News reported that Johnson played with at least two broken fingers, but when questioned, Lions head coach Jim Schwartz denied comment. Go figure. “I am not going to comment on any of our players’ health,” Schwartz said at the time.  “But that’s not uncommon for a wide receiver. . . . We don’t have any injury reports this time of year.  And you know how I am about injuries.” Yes, we do, Jim. Sorry we asked. UPDATE: Pro Football Talk has a source that says Johnson “actually didn’t break any fingers.” The plot thickens.Questions? Comments?
