'Diamondbacks: The 10th Inning' premieres on Sunday, April 20

"Diamondbacks: The 10th Inning Presented by Century Link" is set for the 2014 premiere of its sixth season on Sunday, April 20, at 4 p.m. on FOX Sports Arizona. This show will debut immediately following the Arizona Diamondbacks at Los Angeles Dodgers game and will re-air at 10 p.m. that night.
Last year, this series received a Rocky Mountain Emmy nomination for the Sports -- Daily or Weekly Program category. Host Todd Walsh states that this show is different from all of the others because it has the "time, the resources and connections to go deeper," and FOX Sports Arizona can do stories on the Arizona Diamondbacks that no one else can.
The season premiere will include highlights from the D-backs trip Down Under, to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the trip to Sydney. This segment is narrated by none other than the D-backs relief pitcher, resident tour guide and Aussie native, Ryan Rowland-Smith.
Additionally, outdoorsmen Wade Miley and Josh Collmenter go to the Ben Avery Shooting Range to test out some firepower and take a shot on a target that is 1,000 yards away (yes, that is 10 football fields in length).
Collmenter also visits the set of the touring production of Andrew Lloyd Weber's Wizard of Oz at ASU's Gammage Auditorium in his spiffy size 13 ruby red Nikes. He gets the chance to chat with Dorothy, the Tin Man and the star of the production, Nigel, one of the dogs that plays Toto.
Lastly, Todd Walsh takes a look at some memorable first-impressions that were not indicative of long-term success, both on the field and in pop culture. Although the D-backs have struggled out of the gate this season, Todd reminds us that all is not lost. Imagine if MLB had bailed on Randy Johnson in his early years because he lacked control, or if Seinfeld had been canceled by NBC, as was considered.
Be sure to tune into FOX Sports Arizona on Sunday, April 20, at 4 p.m. to watch the season premiere of Diamondbacks: The 10th Inning.
