Dhawan's brisk 51 helps India level T20 series vs Sri Lanka

RANCHI, India (AP) Opener Shikhar Dhawan's maiden Twenty20 international half-century helped India score a 69-run win over Sri Lanka in their second game to level the three-game series 1-1.

Dhawan struck 51 off only 25 deliveries with two sixes and seven fours, putting on 75 runs for the opening stand with Rohit Sharma (43) as the home side made 196-6 after being put in to bat.

Suresh Raina (30) and rookie allrounder Hardik Pandya (27) also chipped in to help swell the total on a slow pitch.

Sri Lanka, which had won the first game in Pune by five wickets, could only manage 127-9 in reply.

Ravichandran Ashwin (3-14) and Ashish Nehra (2-26) came up with early blows to stifle the chase even as Chamara Kapugedera top-scored for Sri Lanka with 32.
