Defensive lineman Anthony Chickillo to return to UM for senior season
University of Miami defensive lineman Anthony Chickillo will return for his senior season.
Chickillo, the first third-generation Hurricane, took to Twitter Wednesday night to announce his decision.
"To end all the rumors, I will return for my final season at Miami, let's make it a good one," Chickillo wrote.
The 6-4, 277-pounder, who received NFL Draft projections, has played in 37 games over three seasons, totaling 129 tackles, 20.5 tackles for a loss, 12.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two pass breakups.
In 2013, Chickillo recorded career highs in tackles (46) and tackles for a loss (7.5) in 13 games.
Junior linebacker Denzel Perryman has yet to announce his decision. Junior tight end Clive Walford told media following December's Russell Athletic Bowl that he would return.
The returning Hurricanes will get back to work soon, as Miami announced it will hold its spring game at 6 p.m. April 12 at Sun Life Stadium. The Hurricanes finished this past season 9-4 in head coach Al Golden's third year at the helm.
