Dayton held off by Old Dominion 74-71

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Keyon Carter and Trian Iliadis came off the bench to score career highs as Old Dominion held off Dayton 74-71 on Saturday.
Carter had 19 points and Iliadis 15 for the Monarchs (8-2), who won their third straight game.
Frank Hassell added 12 points, including a layup with 7 seconds to go. That forced Dayton to try a 3-pointer, which Josh Parker missed at the buzzer.
Dayton (7-3) led by eight points in the first half and Old Dominion had an eight-point lead with 7:22 left in the second.
The game was tied 11 times, including 65-65 with 2:38 to go. Baskets by Carter and Hassell and a Ben Finney free throw put the Monarchs up by five, but Paul Williams hit a 3 to make it 70-68.
After Darius James made two foul shots, Chris Johnson's 3-pointer got the Flyers to 72-71 with 9 seconds left.
Johnson scored 24 for Dayton and Chris Wright had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
