The Pelicans are getting some surprise return firepower Wednesday night versus the LA Clippers, as Anthony Davis and Tyreke Evans both return from injury.

Doctors evaluated both players Wednesday morning and cleared them medically.

Davis will not start. He'll play from the bench wearing a splint after missing the past seven games with a fractured hand. Davis was supposed to miss 4-6 weeks.

This will be just the fifth time Davis has played off the bench in his NBA career.

Coach Monty Williams says there are no minute restrictions for either Davis or Evans, who is coming back from a re-sprained ankle.
