DALLAS -- West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen had a quick response to Alabama coach Nick Saban's criticism of up-tempo offenses: Get over it.
Holgorsen was asked at Big 12 Media Days about the comments of Saban, Arkansas coach Bret Bielema and others that no-huddle, up-tempo offenses lead to injuries. Their beef is that not allowing teams to substitute leads to a greater risk of injury.
"Yeah, I'd tell him to get over it because it's not going to change," Holgorsen said Tuesday. "It's going into the NFL, for crying out loud. There's people being hired in the NFL that have the background in college football to be able to create a little bit more parity."
On Monday at the Big 12 gathering, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy, an up-tempo proponent, said fast-paced offenses have helped create parity in college football.
"Don't see it changing any time soon," Holgorsen said. "So you'd better learn to adapt to it."
