D-backs recall Spruill from Reno

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have recalled right-handed pitcher Zeke Spruill from Triple-A Reno.

Spruill, who will celebrate his 25th birthday on Thursday, begins his third stint with the D-backs. In two games, he is 0-1 with 4.82 ERA over 9 1/3 innings pitched. In 28 games (11 starts) with Triple-A Reno, Spruill went 3-7 with one save and a 6.04 ERA.

Spruill pitched in six games for the Diamondbacks last season, going 0-2 with a 5.56 ERA.
