PHOENIX -- The Diamondbacks wapped up the 2016 MLB Draft by selecting 30 players on Saturday in Rounds 11-4-, including Coastal Carolina infielder Connor Owings, brother of D-backs infielder Chris Owings, University of Arizona pitcher Kevin Ginkel and Mountain Ridge High School infielder Cameron Cannon.
All told, the Diamondbacks used 32 of their 40 picks on college players. The class includes six catchers, eight infielders, six outfielders, 15 right-handed pitchers and five left-handed pitchers.
Connor Owings, selected in the 34th round, was the Big South Conference Player of the Year, hitting .373 with 15 home runs.
Ginkel was a 22nd-round selection. He has a 4-1 record and 2.82 ERA for Arizona in 54 1/3 innings.
