AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Michael Curry is not a bitter man.
Curry, who originally came to Detroit in 1995 on a 10-day contract, was a Pistons player from 1995-97 and again from 1999-2003.
After the Pistons fired Flip Saunders, Curry became the head coach for the 2008-09 season, in which the team went 39-43.
But Curry, who probably needed a bit more seasoning as an assistant before holding the top job, was let go after that season. He had to deal with unhappy players Rip Hamilton and Allen Iverson, who both felt they should be starting.
Curry returned to town Saturday as an assistant to former Pistons coach Doug Collins, who is now coaching the Philadelphia 76ers, who lost to the Pistons, 112-109, in overtime
