The Cubs may have another option in their search for a first baseman.

Foxsports.com reports they've inquired about Dodgers first baseman James Loney, an arbitration-eligible player who made $3.1 million in 2010. He probably will get around $5 million or so in arbitration.

Loney fits the bill: He's left-handed and doesn't make much money. Loney hit .267 last year with 10 home runs and 88 RBI. His career numbers are .288 with 55 home runs and 353 RBI.
