Coyotes players to take part in 'Movember' movement

The Phoenix Coyotes announced Thursday that a group of players on the team will grow mustaches in honor of Movember, an annual charity event held during the month of November that encourages men to grow mustaches to raise awareness and funds for cancers affecting men.
Coyotes defenseman Derek Morris, who is known on the team as "Mo," will lead the charge during the 30-day mustache-growing movement and will be joined by team captain Shane Doan, Paul Bissonnette, Mikkel Boedker, Kyle Chipchura, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Thomas Greiss, Jeff Halpern, Tim Kennedy, Rob Klinkhammer, Andy Miele, David Moss, David Rundblad, David Schlemko, Michael Stone, Mike Smith, Antoine Vermette and Keith Yandle.
"My teammates and I are excited to join this great cause," Morris said in a statement. "It's a fun way to raise awareness about cancers affecting men. I look forward to seeing what kind of 'staches our team can grow."
The Coyotes will publicly share pictures of the players throughout the month and are encouraging fans to tweet @phoenixcoyotes and share their Movember mustache photos for a chance to win tickets to upcoming games. Fans should use the hashtag #YotesMosBros for an opportunity to win a suite to a Coyotes game in December.
Women are also encouraged to join the Movember movement by raising money to support the men in their life, acting as men's health advocates.
Fans can support the Coyotes Movember campaign by donating at the Coyotes Community Corner at Jobing.com Arena beginning Nov. 5, when the Coyotes host the Vancouver Canucks. Fans also can contribute to the cause by visiting the Coyotes Movember page at PhoenixCoyotes.com/Movember, which will launch Nov. 1.
