IRVING, Texas - Cowboys rookie safety J.J. Wilcox is undergoing an MRI this evening to determine the severity of a right knee sprain sustained in Thursday's practice.
Wilcox' quick assimilation caused Dallas to release early-season starter Will Allen. Veteran Barry Church will continue to man the other safety position for the 4-3 Cowboys, who play at Detroit on Sunday.
If Wilcox is ruled out, fellow rookie Jeff Heath, an undrafted free agent, will take his spot.
