Cowboys VP Stephen Jones will root for the Packers

IRVING, Texas -- NFC North contending Green Bay hosts NFC East rival Philadelphia in a mid-November playoff chase.
"I can't help but be a little on the Packers' side," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones told KRLD-FM 105.3 The Fan on Wednesday.
The Eagles currently sit a half-game ahead of the Cowboys atop the NFC East at 7-2, while the Packers at 6-3 are a full game behind Detroit at 7-2.
For Jones, the decision to lend support for Green Bay is motivated purely out of his franchise's well-being and not out of spite for any NFC East foe.
"Anytime we got someone playing one of those NFC East teams -- I've got a lot of respect for the NFC East -- but I don't see many times when we've ever rooted for them," Jones explained.
In other NFC East match ups for Sunday, the 3-6 Giants, who Dallas plays on Sunday the 23rd, host the 5-4 49ers, while Washington at 3-6 plays host to 1-8 Tampa Bay.
The last time the entire NFC East lost during a Cowboys bye week was 2009, coincidentally the last time the team made the postseason.
