NEW YORK (AP) -- Columbus Blue Jackets forward Derek MacKenzie was suspended for three games without pay by the NHL for Friday for boarding Phoenix defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson.
No penalty was assessed for the hit in the first period of Columbus' 2-0 road victory. Ekman-Larsson didn't return to the game and missed practice Friday. The Coyotes said only that he had an upper-body injury.
The suspension will cost MacKenzie $15,385.
