NEW YORK (AP) Race caller Larry Collmus has signed a five-year contract extension with NBC Sports to remain the voice of the Triple Crown and the Breeders' Cup races.

Collmus has been the race caller for NBC since 2011. It was his voice racing fans heard when American Pharoah won last year's Belmont Stakes to become the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years.

The 49-year-old Collmus also is the track announcer for the New York Racing Association from April through October, and for Gulfstream Park in Florida from December through March.

Collmus says: ''Calling the Triple Crown and Breeders' Cup for NBC has been the thrill of a lifetime. For me to know I'll have the privilege of calling racing in the future is just fantastic.''
