College team punished after hazing death

St. Thomas University has suspended its men's volleyball team after learning it participated in a hazing event and a teammate later died.
Andrew Jason Bartlett was found dead in an apartment in October in Fredericton, New Brunswick, after going to a party with volleyball teammates.
Police say criminal activity did not lead to the 21-year-old man's death, but alcohol was a contributing factor in an accidental fall that killed him.
University president Dennis Cochrane says the team is suspended for the rest of the school year for violating a regulation on team initiations.
He says the university will take steps to enhance its student code of conduct and increase awareness about responsible student activity on and off campus.
Fredericton is located in eastern Canada, less than 75 miles from the border with Maine.
