Clippers sign Jordan Hamilton to another 10-day contract

Jordan Hamilton was signed to his second 10-day with the Clippers on Friday.
Hamilton, a Compton Dominguez High product, has started two games in place of the injured Matt Barnes.
"Coach Doc (Rivers) has given me the opportunity," Hamilton said. "I'm just going to (capitalize on) that."
With Hamilton signing on Friday, he'll be able to play in at least five more games with the Clippers. This 10-day contract runs through the Clippers' game against Houston on March 15.
Hamilton is averaging 3.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game.
Barnes is out with an injury as is Jamal Crawford (contused calf) and Blake Griffin (elbow surgery), although Griffin could return as early as Sunday at Golden State.
After Barnes injured his hamstring, Hamilton was told to be ready and he started the following game at Minnesota, where he had 10 points in the Clippers' win.

He's following the lead of guard Dahntay Jones, who started off by signing a 10-day contract with the Clippers, then another one and then was signed for the rest of the season.
"He's a guy who was always cheering for the team and the first one off the bench to get guys going," Hamilton said. "I've just been getting tips from him and doing the same thing."
Hamilton has played in the NBA before with the Nuggets, but he was most recently playing for the NBA Developmental League's Reno Big Horns before the Clippers signed him.
"In the NBA you always have to be ready," Hamilton said. "You can be thrown into the fire at any time. I'm used to that by being in the league prior. I was prepared for it."
Hamilton was happy to be home in Los Angeles because his family is here. He said his grandmother is ill, and he was scheduled to visit her earlier in the week. His brother, Isaac, plays basketball at UCLA.
