The Los Angeles Clippers made some news Wednesday by signing shooting guard Chris Douglas-Roberts and forward/center Ekpe Udoh.

"Chris and Ekpe are two versatile players who bring depth and a strong presence to our team," head coach Doc Rivers said of the move. "We are excited to add them to the roster."

Douglas-Roberts has been in the league five seasons who now is with his fifth team. He spent last season with the Charlotte Bobcats, averaging 6.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in roughly 20 minutes of action.

Udoh comes over from the Milwaukee Bucks, where he spent the previous two seasons after spending his first three in Golden State. He averaged 3.4 points and 3.5 rebounds playing 19 minutes per game.

The signings come only a few days after the team released guard Carlos Delfino and center Miroslav Raduljica, both of whom had been acquired in the deal that sent Jared Dudley to the Phoenix Suns.

Looking at the present-day roster, it doesn't appear as if either Douglas-Roberts or Udoh will be anything more than end-of-the-bench players. While they both played around 20 minutes per game in their previous stops, neither team had players like Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan or Spencer Hawes around to up minutes.

Douglas-Roberts has the ability to stretch the floor and can be a scorer off the bench. Udoh stands at 6-10, 245 pounds and can serve as another big body for when the Clippers go against bigger teams, like the Memphis Grizzlies and the Houston Rockets.

Neither move will move the needle, but it's never bad to have depth on your side.
