Classic Coyotes features Smith's 54-save effort

FOX Sports Arizona's "Classic Coyotes Tuesday" returns on Tuesday, Dec. 18 with a replay of Mike Smith's 54-save shutout vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The replay will air at 4 p.m. on FOX Sports Arizona. The April 3, 2012, game at Jobing.com Arena featured Smith's third consecutive shutout victory, and this one set an NHL regular-season record for most saves in a shutout. Smith's spectacular play and goals by Boyd Gordon and Gilbert Brule resulted in a 2-0 Coyotes victory. The save was Smith's eighth of the season, tying a team record.
"It's been unbelievable," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "Time after
time, he's made unbelievable saves for us. It's been an incredible run."
